Council meeting are held at the borough office 26 Smock Avenue on the third Thursday of every month, unless otherwise advertised. Study Session meeting are held on an as needed basis and are advertised when needed.

Albion Library
Albion Area Public Library is located at 115 East Pearl Street. The library hours are Monday and Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to
3:00 p.m.

Soliciting
Solicitors within the borough must register and obtain a permit from the Albion Borough Office. Certain non-profit organizations are exempt. Check with the borough office for details.

Trash Pick Up
The borough contracts for trash pickup on behalf of all borough residents. To sign up for trash service, call Waste Management 1-800-458-0476. They bill all customers directly and all comments concerning trash service should be addressed to the company. Residents may also purchase individual tags for occasional service and they are available at the borough office at a cost of $4.00 per tag.

Borough Park
The Albion Borough park facilities include pavilions, a stone house and a log cabin that are available to rent for picnics, reunion and other functions. The rental fee
for the buildings are as follows:

The borough park also is the home of the 3rd Oldest Wooden Carousel and is open
on weekends. The Carousel is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 at a cost of .50 cents a ride or as a group you can opt for the unlimited rides can be special and purchased $30.00 for your group to have unlimited rides that whole day.

Brush and Leaf Pick Up
On Mondays through the spring, summer, and fall borough personnel will pick up trimmings, clippings and bagged items. All items must be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. Monday morning. Moderate amounts of tree branches and other trimmings, no more than a single truckload, will be picked up. Items should be less than eight feet long and arranged for easy removal. Lawn clippings must be bagged in clear bags. Fall and Spring leaf service is also provided. Leaves must be bagged in clear bags and kept separate from trash. Do not over fill bags. If you cannot lift it we cannot either.

Snow Plowing
The borough is responsible for plowing all borough streets. State and Main Streets are state roads and are plowed by the state. Overnight parking on all streets if prohibited from November 1st to April 15th, 2:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Residents are reminded that plowing, shoveling or blowing snow into public streets is a violation of state law. To help keep school children from walking on State Street while traveling to and from school, the borough also plows the sidewalk from the tracks east to the veterans� memorial as time and manpower permit.

Zoning Permits
Albion Borough has a zoning ordinance in effect and zoning permits are required. Please contact the borough office before beginning any building projects. Albion Borough uses Building Inspection Underwriters of Pennsylvania, Inc. for building
inspections. Our code official is Bill Baker, 860-8044 you may not need a zoning permit from us but you may need a building permit from him.
